Fete Royal 10 Legacy

Last night was Fetel Royal 10 Legacy and all I have to say is oh my gosh. Party started at 6pm but when we arrived a little before 7pm it was already ram like Francis Fashions when a "shipment" reach and it have sale. When we got in it looked like people reach since 4pm.

I have no idea where the parking was but my sister parked in the Savannah and was aight so I guess it was cool.

From the time you walked in it was like "waaay QRC gone clear". There was an entrance tunnel with digital images of prominent alumni which culminated in a huge screen with welcome messages from QRC people like Peter Minshall. It was a little creepy to be welcomed by Eric Williams though. I'm almost certain that was AI....almost.

Speaking of creepy...whose idea it was to have those two Moko Jumbies by the door. I mean why inflict that level of trauma on me...sorry I mean people?? Once we got in and finished the obligatory photos of madame and the fantastic decor (big up man like Kirk) it was time to head straight to the food court.

The food court was much better organized than last year. Glad to see they took my feedback and had proper signage. Also, this year the servers weren't hoggish and acting like it's their food I eating. I even tested the Sushi people by asking if I could have more than one serving and they looked at me like "we doh care bai...is your money spend".

The food court had plenty options for us animal loving vegetarians and allyuh meat eating savages alike. I saw level pork stations, ribs, sushi, wantons, crab and dumpling, bake and shark, fried noodles and tofu (it real lash) plus much much more and an assortment of desserts. I must be eat three things and give up when I see the lines. I'm sure people still in that crab and dumpling line right now.

At first I thought it was just me and my usual man-opause internal heat that had me sweating like a man who gyal going thorough his phone but other people confirmed that the party was hot like Nadia in a cyatsuit. There was a brief sprinkle of rain which cooled the place down but nothing ridiculous like the deluge at CIC.

There was no Hendrick's station but there was a whole Gin booth called The Gin House with all kinds of alternative gins. I'm not going to give allyuh a review of the gins because I find they could give me a lil endorsement wuk. Like nobody need a "Gin-fluencer" (copyright pending) or wah? I was shocked and upset to find out late in the night that the main bar had Gordon's, my go-to gin when I on a budget.

Listen, I know some people will get upset when I say this but some of the ladies at Fete Royal were unreal. I was like OH EM GEE their parents did some good work. God take he time when he was making them. There was one young lady who looked like her surgeon got carried away but who is me to judge. I feel she is the girl that 'Added Rankin' sing that song about seeing she bamsee from the front.

The performances started with GBM of course. Listen, right now GBM is like the national anthem of fetes. You cyah start a performance session without the boss man.

Farmer Nappy came on next and while I love Farmer, I ain't have much to say nah. Dil-E-Nadan was equally uneventful even though I love to hear them fellas perform. If yuh drunk enough and visually impaired Raymond and the band will have yuh believing the party have level artistes.

We were treated to performances from Full Blown, Yung Bredda and Mical Teja. When Kes came on I was like yeah somebody else dressed him tonight because the boss came out in a green big boy suit. The only thing was the suit fit like he borrowed it from a older, bigger sibling but...baby steps. His performance was decent yet pedestrian. People I spoke to found he was boring...ok...I found he was boring but maybe I just hating because he's the second hottest red man in T&T.

When Garlin came on it was pandemonium. I doh care how many times Machel sing Pardy or how much thick gyal he bring to cry on stage, Carry It is my road march. Listen I know I give Fay-Ann a hard time but I've changed my ways. Without her there can be no Bunji and to be fair she tunes hard and she have her fans.

Machel came on as the headline act and he was definitely better than at Fete With The Saints. I hate to keep harping on outfits but why Machel dressing like he in a 90s hip hop video? The man clothes big big like he and Lady Lava have the same tailor. Dawg if yuh belly big is no scene inno, in fact men like me with dad bods go identify with yuh more.

Ok so while the vibes at Fete Royal win, the food and drinks didn't. When I went for my customary all-inclusive third meal, a lot of food stations were either closed or didn't have certain options. Shrimp and fries isn't the same without the shrimp. Gin and tonic isn't the same as gin and soda because tonic done.

What Fete With The Saints have in food, drinks and decor, Fete Royal have in vibes. I ain't know if it's the crowd or the space or the fact that QRC was a junior sec...wait...it wasn't....my bad....but the vibes was right up.

Party was supposed finish at 1am but all 2am Machel was still on stage. I had to message my "Diego Rideshare" driver (message meh for he contact info, he taking bookings) to tell him we running late.

All in all I give Fete Royal a well earned "4.5/5 - Excellent" putting it at the top of the standings. FWTS might revoke my alumni party card for that but I calls it like I sees it. I think FWTS could cut down on the decor and bring Bunji and the vibes would kick off. At the end of the day we love to see all school fetes do well....ALL...even Fatima who doh like meh.
